so i just ordered a new collar tag for abby. it's one of those flat ones that slide onto the collar so it doesn't dangle down and get in the way. you can check them out at boomerang tags. the thing about it is that this isn't the first one of these tags that we have ordered. we got her one probably about three months ago.

a couple weeks ago, we came in and noticed that abby wasn't wearing her collar. i had just loosened it because it was getting too tight, so we figure she just managed to slip out of it...or maybe it came unbuckled while she was scratching or something, since it was on the very last notch anyway. we thought nothing of it and figured we'd find it lying around somewhere.

two weeks later, the collar is still missing. we've looked absolutely everywhere. every room, every closet, under every piece of furniture, appliance, rug, pillow, cushion. in every little nook and cranny, and in every air conditioner vent or air intake. no collar. although we did find some mail belonging to the previous resident shoved into the air intake upstairs.

at this point, there's really nowhere left to look. i've come to the conclusion that either someone came in and took the collar off the cat, or abby took the collar off, put it in the trash can, and it got taken out with the trash.
