talk
in 30 minutes i commence my presentation. diss2.pdf is where to find it. it takes about 45 minutes. people will start pouring into this room in about 15 minutes to wait for the presentation.
i don't have enough time to go back over the talk, but i don't have enough time to leave and go back to the office. i'd only do there what i'm doing right here...and that's surf/blog/chill. plus, i don't want to get to that point where i know the talk too well. i've had that happen for sermons and it's mildly disastrous.
my .pdf file for the slideshow weighs in at just 1090 kb, but that's enough. most 10 and 15 page journal articles i find online are only around 500 kb. what a weird situation. i went through and made some last minute corrections.....i hope this goes well.
the truth is that this seminar has actually gotten brutal in the past and i'm mildly (where mildly==terribly) nervous about such. i was always told by my old math professors that saying "i don't know" is way better than pulling something from my bum.
when this guy rounds up (i've put in an estimated 25-30 hours since thursday night), we're going to start our taxes. i know, i know, they should've been done months ago. but with school and travel, that has been easier said than done.
mom comes into town this weekend and dad follows two days later. i'm really looking forward to them coming, but that also means we have even more to do this week. lots of cleaning must be done. but we've got an all-star lineup for her (their, but her in particular) visit to nc. we still plan to take time and have a date-time.

the talk went well. i was able to answer all of my questions (save one which i mistook for asking for deeper meaning). no one at the end flamed me or even asked me a question. whewt!
i was sure tired last night afterwards though. i'm glad that's over.
