past and up-and-coming events

last week was a hectic one. work was pressing, but stuff got done (arguably) and now the other things on the list are mounting up. so those things keep piling on.

friday night we had a grill-out for our school friends. we had about 12 people from the office over and it was tons of fun. we cooked probably 18-20 pounds of meat and 10 pounds of veggies (or more!). guests brought wonderful desserts and with a little home-made ice cream, the night was set. t had rained hard on thursday and so the friday night air was so nice.

we pulled off two more ripe tomatoes from our vines. it seems a shame that we plan on taking our big road-trip when they'll probably all turn ripe on us. but our friends can have them as payment for watching the fish.

carrie fay (stacey's sister) comes into town tuesday morning about 1ish. it'll be good to see her. but i won't be seeing much of her since i'm going out camping with a friend on tuesday night for a friend/pre-his-wedding campout. we'll leave tuesday after work and get some biking in. we'll hang out overnight before coming back on wednesday around lunchtime. then work is done (dilligently) until we leave for tx. we haven't decided if we're gonna stay in a hotel, but probably will. the drive is so long. the ky trip is gonna be easy comparably, so we can do it in a day.

18-20 pounds of meat? what! there was like 6 pounds of hamburger, and 2 pounds of hotdog ... so unless nathan and vrushali brought 10-12 pounds of fish (i'm thinking they brought like 2-3 pounds worth...max), you are way overestimating!
