so we took a mini-vacation to charleston, sc this past weekend. my mom, her sister, and their friend were going to charleston, so we decided to take the day off friday and head out there as well. we got in late thursday night, just in time to go to sleep. the next day, we headed downtown and toured the edmonston-alston house. afterwards, we had lunch at jestine's and then walked down market st. and bought pralines at market street sweets. we were tired of walking, so we headed back to the hotel, but eventually got back out that night to hit the mall. on saturday, we spent just about the whole day at boone hall plantation. while searching for restaurants online in mt. pleasant, i ran across gullah cuisine, which turned out to be wonderful. we visited the boone hall farms market and then spent a while at the beach at isle of plams. of course, we couldn't visit charleston without a stop at sticky fingers. the little brochures they have at the hotel are always good for a free peach cobbler there.
