fly away

and if I kiss you in the garden, in the moonlight will you pardon me?

1st one.... :)

Sunday, June 29, 2003

which floor plan are you?

and my mouth stinkin' hurts!!!!!
ooh, yeah, i hate going to the dentist as well.... that's something i need to do before i leave this summer. i haven't been in a long time, either. :(

so the car is a black 99 honda accord lx with 34k miles. got it here in murray. it's really nice. i love it!

Saturday, June 28, 2003

ooh! do tell about the new car!

and yes, i agree that the new layout is a bit different on blogger, but it does make it much nicer and easier to see things. i think it is organized better now.

my mouth is really killing me. in addition to all the fillings i just got, the dentist lasered off part of my gum near one of my back molars. the thing aches costantly. and my jaws are killing me from being forced open so long and so wide for two days straight for the fillings. ow. to make matters worse, i think i am getting some sort of a mouth sore towards the front of my mouth. ugh. i hate being in pain over stuff like this. stupid dentist.

stupid me, really. i don't know why i waited so long to go back.
so i finally got a new car. yay!

Friday, June 27, 2003

definately odd definately definately

apartment hunting!! fun fun!! i can't wait! :)

Thursday, June 26, 2003

woah, so the new blogger thing freaked me out!

anyway, i've been packing lately. i've got all my books (i didn't realize i had so many!) and cds boxed up. most of the kitchen-type stuff is boxed, too. i think i've packed just about everything i can for now...so i guess it's time for more studying.

headed to paducah to check out cars and furniture tomorrow...fun times.

question...if someone you haven't seen in 8 years has a private investigator program and looks up your last name in your old home town to get a forwarding address, then gets your social security number from the listed members of the old address, then uses the social to find all the places you've ever lived (and for how long) and then calls you from the phone number that the information yields...would you consider it a bit freaky?

cause i do! ugh!
i will be teaching algebra I type courses and maybe an act prep course.
congratulations on your job, carrie! what exactly will you be doing?

Friday, June 20, 2003

have you ever noticed that no matter how many lanes a road has, there is always some jerk intent on permanently affixing his or her vehicle in the leftmost lane? that's fine with me...but i reserve the right to give the finger to you and each one of the children on your school bus as i speed past you on the shoulder of the road.

na, not really...but that's the way i feel sometimes.

i'm home, by the way.

excitement, you guys, is not something i know of this week.... unlike you two :)

so joe, my boss, came into my cubicle today and talked to my about random things for about a half hour... one of the more interesting was how when he took a computer science course in college he would have to punch this card then wait and get a huge print out of errors to fix, punch, print out, etc. then he talked some about fortran and oh i forgot the name of the other one, but to make a long story short, i thought of you two. :)

oh and jobs stink but money is great... odd how that works, huh?
so i'm able to use the computers here in the utk library to get online! yay!

so yesterday morning i'm downstairs at the hotel having breakfast.... the lady sitting at the table beside me goes on a 30 minute monologue about pancakes and waffles: "i haven't had waffles in ages. you know, you can't put fresh apples in pancakes. they stick to the pan, ya know. waffles, though! waffles...they don't stick to the waffle iron. berries now...that's a different story." ...and so on.

and the flourescent light in the bathroom is trying to go out, so it just kinda flashes. it's like showering with a strobe light. very interesting.
yeah! pretty pretty shiny rings!

and so madness ensues. within the past two days i have heard from two very distant guys in my past. one, mat, i knew when i lived in illinois. i only knew him for a couple months - as he was the then boyfriend of one of my friends (who i only knew for like six months before i moved to tennessee). anyway, somehow this guy finds my kentucky number (he didn't even know i moved to kentucky...) and left a message on my machine saying that he wated to catch up and just wants to hear my voice. odd. and he left his e-mail address. i called him back and left a message that said hello. but i think i'll stick to e-mailing now. hmm. i mean really...it's been seven and a half years. you'd stick to e-mailing too.

oh! there were two guys. that's right. the second was my first real boyfriend. his name is josh. his brother, bryan, is a good friend of mine. so when i got on aim tonight and bryan messaged me i responded back...only to find out that it was josh. it turned out to be a delightful discussion. for reasons unknown to me, his girlfriend stopped letting me talk to him as soon as they started dating (five years in august), so i haven't caught up with josh in ages. it was really nice to chat with him, and we've exchanged e-mail addresses, so maybe we can tlak a bit more in the future.

fun times. and again, shiny rings! this is my favorite, although at the store in paducah it is only $699 (through the rest of june).

rings!! :)

Monday, June 16, 2003

hi everyone! i'm back from sunny california! it was a great trip, and other than the dreaded blockbuster (only 3 shifts left to work!) i'm pretty glad to be home.

tomorrow jon and i are going to paducah to look for possible engagement rings. i hope he's actually serious about this whole thing.

and that is hilarious about getting kicked out of the park, andy! i doubt i ever told you, but once my friend chris and i got kicked out of a park after hours too. we were just playing on the swings and stuff, and then we got the bright flashlight-in-the-eyes routine. fun fun.
i had to go to the office to get some things tonight, so i stopped by wyatt's while i was in town. we went out to the park to do a little midnight geocaching. there are some really dense woods back there! anyway, didn't find anything but we were carded by the police and removed from the park after about an hour and a half of searching. wow. i'm itchy all over.

on a separate note, it's absolutely beautiful outside tonight. it's very misty, so the full moon is really lighting up the sky.

hope you all have a wonderful week.

Sunday, June 15, 2003

so i saw one of the funniest commericals in a long time today. it's a commercial for a "coast-to-coast walkie-talkie" by nextel. it features the "antennalope". anyone know what i'm talking about?

Thursday, June 12, 2003

so i just went blank on how to spell this word and i feel soooo stupid... the word was "our"

so grandpa use to have this cat when i was little. i don't remember much about her other than the fact she'd follow me around. she would follow me into the bathroom and i wouldn't want to use the facilities with the cat looking at me. so to get her to go outside i'd have to walk into the hallway till she followed me then walk quickly back into the bathroom and slam the door before she could come in. :)
"gggrrrrrooooooowwwwwllllllllll," my stomach says. :P
so driving school wasn't all that bad. it was actually kind of fun. the instructor let us out about an hour early and didn't make us take the test at the end of the class. we also watched only one of the three videos he was going to show...and it was a cartoon featuring goofy. also, the instructor was really funny, so that helped. i met a few interesting people and had a good time. i do have to say that there were more people sporting mullets there than at a nascar race. not that there's anything wrong with watching nascar...or mullets for that matter...business in front, party in back.

i really wasn't looking forward to it at all.... i expected the instructor to be condescending and treat us like criminals. it wasn't like that at all. it was really laid back and informal.

i did find out something pretty interesting.... in western kentucky, people have been arrested for dui while riding horses, and even a lawn mower. odd, huh?

Wednesday, June 11, 2003

just a quick update on what's going on, i guess....

i've been bidding on cars on ebay a lot lately. i have two outstanding bids on cars in texas, so i might be making a trip down there soon. my probe is really falling to pieces. well, not really...but it's just kind of old. i'm not sure how many trips to and from knoxville it's capable of making.

i went geocaching in paris, tennessee with wyatt yesterday...great fun. managed to come away with two ticks and a bit less skin on my left arm.

in the interest of not losing my license, i'm headed to driving school tonight. seems that i've been caught going a bit too fast one too many times.

Sunday, June 08, 2003

that's the movie with lea thompson, from caroline in the city, isn't it stacey? it comes on cable lots...i've seen bits and pieces.

so...definitely a pretty exciting weekend...but it's back to business on monday. of course, "business" for me is getting up around 10am, doing nothing for several hours, maybe making a trip to town for something, more doing nothing, and then maybe playing frisbee or baseball with the dog in the late afternoon. yahoo games...mostly literati...until the early morning hours. i've told myself that i'm going to put more time into studying this week, though, since i will be out of town the next. and ooh, i have driving school wednesday evening at the benton courthouse. i keep forgetting about it, which is not good. i lose my license if i don't show up.

so i'm really looking forward to going to knoxville next week. not only does it get me out of my regular routine of alternating sleep and boredom, but i really like trips like this. i'm definitely not looking forward to trying to find an apartment. it just seems like a huge hassle. i hate calling people to arrange appointments, driving around town trying to find these places, etc...especially by myself.

and really, i'm looking forward to going to knoxville in august. it's not that i'm in a hurry to get out of here.... i'm in a hurry to start my new life in a new place. it's very scary, but i want to get going! i'm anxious about what it's going to be like, meeting new people, etc. i really hope i make friends as good as the ones i found at murray during the past few years...but you guys better not disappear on me! you're both welcome to call (and visit!) any time.

it's only 11:00, but it certainly feels like bedtime. tomorrow: study topology.
andy is a computer genius!!!!! i give him my computer to reformat and to fix my modem and the modem that two other computer people tried to make work and failed he got to work!!!! yay andy!!!! dial up is actually getting a decent name now that it's on my computer :)

Saturday, June 07, 2003

so i've officially been with jon for eleven months now. i could be thrilled with him forever, you know? i guess that's how it's supposed to be though.

i just watched casual sex. i know it sounds bad, but really it's not! it's actually a cute girl flick about two girls who are best friends who decide that they need a health spa vacation to meet better men. and as a result they find some losers and a couple winners. it ends in such a cheezy way...i just loved it. lol. i crack me up.

oh, and roach in the sink. ugh. i can't wait to move out of here. i washed it down the drain and then poured bleach down both sides of the drain...so maybe that will be a deterrent. let's hope anyway! i also have all my dishes out of the sink right now, so if there is a problem it'll be stuck in the sink for a while at least. ugh. oh and i screamed a lot. shock shock. anyway, that was all long before work, and this is a good twelve hours later, so all seems good for now.

it's four in the morning. goodness. i'm going to bed. goodnight all!

Thursday, June 05, 2003

so last night i had probably the scariest dream i've had in the past couple years. in the dream, i was driving on hwy 79 just east of dover, tn...and there was a super sharp sudden curve just before that bridge that crosses the cumberland river. i was going pretty fast, and there was no guard rail. the car slid right off of the road into the river. just before it hit the water, i woke up. whew. that was a stressful dream.

anyway.... i think i found a new hobby. it's not all that often i start new hobbies. i guess the last interest i really picked up was playing guitar, and that was 8 years ago. so this one is called geocaching. basically, people hide things, post the coordinates (longitude and latitude) online and you go find them using a gps unit. sounds kinda dorky at first, but the point is that you get to go out and see new things, be outdoors, and finding some of these caches requires quite a bit of hiking...so it should be fun.

i'll call you!

just not now. going home now....

microsoft excel really is cool.... ken is using it for lots of his thesis work, and you should see some of the things he has been doing. awesome!

so i'm headed to knoxville in a bit over a week to look for an apartment. june 16-19. made reservations today, and it's a good thing i did. only one room left at the days inn campus. this is going to be terrible. this is where i really need someone to help me. i'm so indecisive! ...and this is a pretty major decision. as soon as i find out where i'll be living i'll take care of all the other business in town too. calls will no doubt be appreciated during this time, since i will be without the internet, and hence i will be going crazy.

Tuesday, June 03, 2003

so over the last few weeks microsoft excel and i have become acquainted... who'd have thought it can do so much stuff??? conditional formatting by the way is very cool!

so i tried on just about all the dresses i bought in the last five years tonight, trying to decide what to wear to the wedding on saturday. well i've decided that the short dresses that are at least one year old are way short. i was self conscience and i was just showing mom and jen. then the one long dress is just ugly on me and the other one that i bought two sizes too big now fits.. grrr!!!!! so i have decided to wear a skirt or the dress that i wore to connie and michael's wedding last year. oh well.

on the bright side i'm getting lots of money for graduating. :)
update: be very sure not to leave the "t" out when going to www.dictionary.com.
stupid, stupid song. get out of head! out! out! it's like the seinfeld episode where george gets a song from pirates of penzance stuck in his head. have you ever noticed that i liken everything in real life to either a simpsons or seinfeld episode? do you think it's true that schumann went crazy because he had music stuck in his head that he couldn't get out? i'd hate to have a monkees song drive me insane.

i'm really addicted to shows like junkyard wars and monster garage. you probably wouldn't guess that if you knew me.... i'm not really the car mechanic-type of guy and i'm not like all crazy about power tools. i mean, i fix small stuff on my car, but i'd rather someone fix it who knows what he is doing.

never tried gummi octopi. i am all about some sour gummy bears, though. sour skittles are my favorite, though...but i haven't had any since christmas! oh my. i think it's time for some sour skittles.

haha. so i just typed in www.dictionary.com and evidently misspelled something because i got redirected to a porn site.
have you guys ever seen gummi octopi before? they are so much fun to eat!

gummi octopus
gummi hectopus
gummi hexapus
gummi pentapus
gummi quadrapus
gummi tripus
gummi bipus
gummi monopus
gummi oedipus!

mmm

Monday, June 02, 2003

so this is me trying to train our dog today:

sit.
sit.
sit.

sigh...not in the chair.
i find the chorus rather annoying, so i left it out.

i think my eyes are getting lots worse. a few months ago, i changed my screen resolution from 1280x1024 to 1024x768. that helped for a while. a month ago, i changed the text size on my browser from smaller to medium. now today, i changed the text size from medium to larger. i think part of it might be my monitor. it seems a little fuzzy. anyway, i'm going to the optometrist before i leave.

those are certainly odd dreams. i can't skate, and i would never persue a girl on roller skates...because let's face it...you're just going to look like a dork when you fall on your face. i wouldn't pursue a girl by swimming after her, either, since i can't swim. oh, but think of the mouth-to-mouth resuscitation possibilities. it would be like a long, passionate kiss...just with less tongue action and more heavy breathing. maybe i didn't think this through. i guess the downside would be the risk of death. now where was i?

oh, yeah. i haven't worn actual shoes in over a week, and let me tell you, it feels good.
why no chorus? and did you know that it was originally sung by a woman (i think anne murray) but the monkees sang it and had to change some of the words, since they are male and it was written from the female perspective. odd.

so last night i drempt that my grampa died, that some guy was all about me and was learning how to roller skate (thus he pursued me on them, and when he sat he couldn't ever stand up himself...haha), and that i found out that my mom was a nude model when she was younger. note, none of these are actually the case. weird.

Sunday, June 01, 2003

do you ever wake up with a song in your head and you don't know why?

(what number is this, chip? 7A! okay, now really...don't get excited, man. it's cause i'm short, i know.)

oh, i could hide 'neath the wings
of the bluebird as she sings.
the six o'clock alarm would never ring.
but it rings, and i rise
wipe the sleep out of my eyes
my shavin' razor's cold and it stings.

you once thought of me as a white knight on a steed.
now you know how happy i can be.
oh, and our good time starts and ends
with a dollar one to spend.
but how much baby do we really need?
